Bootscoot Bootcamp FAQ Sheet
What is it?:
Bootscoot Bootcamp is an ongoing series of progressive couple’s dance lessons. Each month one dance will be featured for 4 consecutive weeks meeting on the first 4 Thursdays of each month. The first week will concentrate on the basics. Each successive class will review the prior week, then progress on in the areas of technique, patterns, and dance concepts. Novice/Intermediate classes will continue building an individual's technique while building progressive patterns.
Do I need Dance experience?:
Whether you’ve never danced before, or have been dancing for decades, you’ll learn something fresh and new each class. Beginners will learn the basic’s that make each dance work and fun. Experienced dancers will gain techniques to build their dance further. Novice/Intermediate classes require a strong knowledge of the basic steps for the dance being taught.
Do I need to bring a partner:?
No. Classes are structured so having a regular partner is not necessary. Having someone to practice with outside the class is always helpful. Couples will learn how their dancing fits into their existing partnership by being able to dance with several others throughout Bootcamp.
Do I have to take all 4 classes:
No. One may choose from 1 to all 4. Each class starts with a brief review of the prior week. As the classes build on each prior week, it is most beneficial to attend all four.
What’s the cost?:
Each 4 week Bootcamp is $50.00 per person. 3 weeks is $40.00. One may elect to take individual classes at a cost of $15.00 per person. At times special Bootcamp packages may be available.
How long is each class?:
Each class will be one (1) hour in length.
What Dances will be taught:?
Basic couple’s dances will be taught throughout the year. These include Two-Step, Double-Two, West Coast Swing, Waltz, and the relatively new Night-Club Two-Step. Subsequent Bootcamps may also include Cha-Cha, East Coast Swing, Country Polka, Hustle, and Salsa.
Who is teaching The Bootcamps:
Each Bootcamp will be led by a different instructor. Our stable of instructors include those of ongoing regional and national dance experience, and World Class competitive and teaching credentials, particularity in the worlds of UCWDC (United Country World Dance Council) and WSDC (World Swing Dance Council). Among them are Regional, National, and World Champions.
Can I bring my children:
Only those participating in the classes will be allowed in the lesson room. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Currently there is no babysitting available through the Bootcamp, or our lesson venues.
